WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU: Weekly pay 10 paid holidays Paid Time Off 401k Full benefits (medical, dental, vision) WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION: Strong work ethic Positive attitude Consistent attendance Willingness to learn Safety minded POSITION SUMMARY: The MRO Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely availability of supplies, cost control, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies and quality standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Procurement & Inventory Management Purchase MRO materials including tooling, spare parts, maintenance supplies, safety equipment, and indirect materials. Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production and maintenance requirements while minimizing excess and obsolescence. Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system; track order status and resolve delivery issues. Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Tool Room teams to understand material requirements. Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, and manage MRO suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance. Negotiate pricing, lead times, contracts, and service agreements with vendors. Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or service concerns. Support supplier rationalization and cost-reduction initiatives. Cost Control & Continuous Improvement Analyze MRO spending and identify opportunities for cost savings and standardization. Support inventory optimization initiatives such as vending machines, crib management, and consignment programs. Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives related to purchasing and materials management. Compliance & Documentation Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and quality system requirements (ISO/IATF as applicable). Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing agreements, and supplier documentation. Support audits and provide required purchasing and supplier records. Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering on planned shutdowns, capital projects, and emergency repairs. Expedite critical orders to prevent downtime. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations. Requirements Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience 2+ years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment Experience purchasing MRO or indirect materials preferred Strong knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in automotive or metal stamping manufacturing Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 environments Knowledge of inventory management and lean manufacturing concepts Key Competencies Attention to detail and follow-through Cost-conscious decision-making Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands Strong problem-solving skills Collaborative, service-oriented mindset
