JOB SUMMARY:

The MRO systems co-ordinator is a key role in the Engineering function, providing specialist purchasing, maintenance planning & execution, and stores inventory support to the Engineering function in Speke. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented person with strong experience with SAP S/4 Hana to monitor inventory operations, maintain accurate stock records, maintain master data, & support procurement and contractor work tracking. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting Engineering efficiency through inventory accuracy, process improvements, and cross-departmental collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as an inventory controller, purchasing specialist, or similar role in an engineering or maintenance environment
  • Strong working knowledge of S/4Hana SAP, including WM, P2P, AM modules
  • Solid understanding of inventory control principles, Maintenance & Repair Operations, and MRO contractor management in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other similar IT tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally & with external contract partners

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ideally a background in fast moving consumer goods, foods, pharma, or chemical industry maintenance operations
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or distribution environment
  • Familiarity with lean practices and continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records
  • Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle and full counts) and reconcile variances, missing items, or transactional errors
  • Monitor stock levels and support Engineering to avoid shortages or overstock situations
  • Ensure equipment BOM’s are updated in collaboration with colleagues in maintenance & reliability teams
  • Ensure opportunities to implement MRO kitting processes, vendor managed inventory, PPE vend & MRO vend is maximised
  • Analyse inventory & spend data and provide reporting to management on stock trends, KPIs & key contract spend
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations teams to support engineering procurement plans & monthly contractor cost reconciliations
  • Engineering super user for MRO master data management, vendor goods receipt, service entry & invoice receipt processes
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reporting processes, contractor cost control and spend analysis
  • Continuously improve inventory control processes, procedures, and SAP data accuracy.
