MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) SUPPORT X 3

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) Support x 3 for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2-4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) SUPPORT X 3 - JOB DESCRIPTION:

This project involves providing comprehensive DBA support for Public Cloud MSSQL offerings such as Azure MI, Azure SQL Databases, and GCP Cloud SQL MSSQL. The role focuses on database sub-tier deployment, SQL integration, and ongoing support to ensure smooth operations post-GoLive.

MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) SUPPORT X 3 - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• 8+ years of Database Administration experience with MSSQL
• 8+ years of experience in providing technical support, covering database administration and operations
• 5+ years of experience with SQL Always-On, mirroring, clustering, and data replication
• 3+ years of experience with application-side tuning versus server-side tuning
• 5+ years of experience with Windows server 2012/2016/2019

MS SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (DBA) SUPPORT X 3 – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Experience with Windows 10/8/7 client operating systems
• Experience with VB, C#, PowerShell, Azure Cloud
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Linux, ksh

• Monitor the system and act upon system and application automated alerts
• Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of software, o/s, and database issues
• Plan and perform software installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching
• Plan and perform database configuration, maintenance, upgrade, and patching
• Perform and manage system and database backups
• Perform manual switch to redundant system/database components in case of system failure
• Provide on-site database and system support
• Monitor, collect statistical information, and provide reporting on capacity and system performance
