JMT is seeking a motivated individual who desires increasing responsibilities in designing, managing, and marketing Water Resources Engineering primarily for MS4 related projects. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated experience in stormwater management, TMDL Action Plans and implementation, MS4 Program Plans, and MS4 compliance. This position will help grow the water resources discipline as part of a multi-discipline engineering office with r many clients. Successful candidates will be expected to effectively oversee, perform, and manage a variety of water resources related engineering projects. There is a significant need for a candidate that can assist clients with MS4 permit compliance and their TMDL goals and understands existing Virginia stormwater regulations. Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical mentor to less experienced engineers. Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget. * Responsible for MS4 Program Plan development and revision, MS4 program, assisting clients with implementation of the DEQ Stormwater Handbook, compliance and VPDES compliance inspections of construction projects. * Conduct watershed studies, TMDL Action Plans, and TMDL project implementation including design of BMP retrofits, stream restoration, shoreline restoration and similar projects. * Design and inspect traditional and innovative green stormwater infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments * Coordination with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines * Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope * Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects * Develop project specific project plans, Project Management Plans/quality management plans. * Manage subconsultants. * Build relationships with client(s) to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality project. * Prepare progress reports and review invoices. * Develop and lead in project status and presentations. * Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process including, SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews. * Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team.
