Tier 3 Engineer (Remote) Location: Remote / Work From Home Client Base: California Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 About the Role We’re looking for a seasoned Tier 3 Engineer who thrives in an MSP environment and enjoys solving complex problems for a wide variety of clients. This is a fully remote position supporting organizations based in California, working alongside a collaborative service team that values responsiveness, ownership, and strong technical leadership. You’ll serve as a top-level escalation point for advanced troubleshooting, infrastructure design, and project delivery. If you like digging into tough issues, mentoring others, and juggling multiple initiatives without dropping the ball, you’ll fit right in. What You’ll Do Act as the highest technical escalation resource for service desk and field teams Troubleshoot and remediate complex server, network, cloud, and security issues Lead and contribute to infrastructure projects and migrations Work multiple tickets and project tasks simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities Collaborate with account managers and clients to recommend long-term solutions Document environments, resolutions, and best practices Help improve internal processes and standards Provide guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 & Tier 2 engineers What You Bring Strong experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows Server, M365, Azure, AD, etc.) Solid networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs) Comfort working across virtualization and backup platforms Experience with ConnectWise or similar MSP toolsets Ability to stay organized and productive while handling multiple projects Clear communication skills and a client-first mindset A natural sense of ownership and follow-through What Success Looks Like Escalations get resolved efficiently and correctly Projects move forward on time and on budget Clients feel confident in your recommendations Teammates trust you as a technical leader If you’re the person others turn to when things get tricky and you enjoy making both clients and coworkers look good, we’d love to meet you.
