DESCRIPTION:
Columbia College (MO) is seeking a passionate, motivated, and innovative faculty member to join our newly established online MSW program. This is a full-time (9-month) instructor (non-tenure) or Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position starting in August 2026. Be a part of a dedicated, engaged, and well-respected faculty that support innovation and creativity, with a strong dedication to academic excellence and accessible education.
The MSW program at Columbia College (MO) currently holds pre-candidacy status with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), with an anticipated full accreditation date of October 2027. We are currently seeking to build a dynamic team of professionals committed to educational excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of a new academic program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, professional development, and service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate for Instructor (non-tenure) will hold a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program and two or more years of post-MSW practice experience. The successful candidate for Assistant Professor (tenure-track) will hold a MSW from a CSWE-accredited program with 2 years of post-MSW practice experience and a Ph.D. or DSW.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s-level license in their respective state; experience providing effective student-centered teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners; experience with innovative teaching approaches and use of distance education technologies in teaching; and experience with online course development.
