ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Team at Kalmbach Feeds, Inc. is seeking a cross-functional System Administrator Trainee to support the Finance team in optimizing technology systems that directly impact animal production operations. This role bridges technical expertise with operational needs, ensuring financial tools align with livestock management, supply chain efficiency, and regulatory compliance for animal production processes. Candidates should possess strong technical skills (SQL, Excel) and some agricultural/animal husbandry interest.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in ongoing systems development initiatives to improve system functionality and efficiency.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for operational systems critical to animal production, such as:
  • Ordering and inventory management of feed/medical supplies.
  • Compliance dashboards for regulatory standards (e.g., animal welfare, biosecurity).
  • Financial tracking of livestock performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot system issues affecting both financial and operational workflows.
  • Document workflows and assist the Development Manager improve processes at the intersection of Finance and Animal Production.
  • Assist in financial and operational reporting for management (e.g., report and dashboard creation and modification).
  • Assist in training existing and new system users.
  • Partner with the Finance team to integrate technology solutions that streamline financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance tied to animal production.
