MTSS Data Coordinator (K–4) Role Summary The MTSS Data Coordinator (K–4) is responsible for owning the systems, data integrity, and progress-monitoring processes that drive effective Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports for scholars in grades K–4. This role ensures that intervention decisions are timely, evidence-based, and clearly documented, allowing instructional leaders and interventionists to act quickly and accurately in service of scholar growth. The MTSS Data Coordinator does not serve as a classroom teacher or instructional coach; instead, they ensure the engine behind MTSS runs with precision. Key Responsibilities MTSS Data Ownership & Systems Own all MTSS data systems for grades K–4, including universal screening, progress monitoring, intervention tracking, and documentation. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of MTSS data across platforms (e.g., i-Ready, MAP, internal trackers). Maintain up-to-date MTSS rosters by tier, grade level, and intervention type. Progress Monitoring & Reporting Monitor scholar progress in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions using defined data cycles. Prepare clear, actionable data reports for instructional leaders, MCIs, and intervention teams. Flag scholars who are not responding to intervention and require adjustments, intensification, or referral. MTSS Meetings & Decision Support Prepare materials and data summaries for MTSS meetings. Document decisions, next steps, and timelines following MTSS reviews. Track follow-up actions and ensure intervention changes are reflected in systems and rosters. Intervention Alignment & Compliance Ensure interventions are matched appropriately to scholar needs based on data. Support fidelity monitoring by ensuring intervention plans, schedules, and progress monitoring tools are clearly documented. Partner with special education teams to support referrals and ensure MTSS documentation meets compliance standards. Collaboration & Communication Partner with Principals, MCIs, interventionists, and special education staff to ensure shared understanding of MTSS data and decisions. Support clear communication with teachers regarding MTSS placement, expectations, and progress monitoring requirements. Maintain organized records that support audits, monitoring, and family communication when needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Data, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in MTSS, intervention, assessment, or academic data roles. Strong understanding of MTSS frameworks, early literacy and numeracy development, and K–4 assessment practices. High proficiency with data systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to synthesize data into clear, usable insights.
