We’re searching for a Multi-Certified Medical Assistant at the Spicewood location; someone who’s ready to be part of a growing team with amazing opportunities. In this position you will be responsible for both clinical and non-clinical duties as a Front Office Specialist II and Certified Medical Assistant. Think you’ve got what it takes? Job Duties & Responsibilities This is a dual role clinical and non-clinical position. Assists with the collection of patient/family data. Assists in the collection of patient/family data that may include biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per practice protocol. Collects and documents vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit with 100% accuracy. Updates documentation to include if patient has received care at any other location since last visit. Documents current medications, allergies, and other information per practice protocol with 100% accuracy. Coordinates referrals, ensuring that the family has contact information for referral and any necessary documentation needed for the referral. Tasks are measured by observation of the evaluator, feedback from providers and review of electronic health record. Provides general patient care. Administers medication and immunizations Supports patients/families in self- management of their health through assisting with education Coordinates referrals Collects specimens and performs laboratory test Maintains certification by fulfilling continuing education (CE) requirements as directed by certification agency. Demonstrates Creating SMILES and AIDET philosophies to patients, families, and co-workers. Provides operational support, performs reception duties, and screens phone calls. Maintains integrity of medical record and monitors patient information and other practice data. Skills & Requirements Required H.S. Diploma or GED Required Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program or documentation from the licensing authority confirming that medical assistant/emergency medical technician education is not a requirement for certification.
