JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team on a self employed basis. The job in question is to cover a Saturday route in the town of Shefford, Bedfordshire. Sunday is available as well. Loading in Letchworth, you will be responsible for planning your route, and scanning & loading your van. Paid per successful parcel delivery at 80p per parcel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to various locations in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, while ensuring the safe transport of products. High volume multi-drop experience is essential due to regular volume of 200-300 parcels per day. Your own van and own insurance must be provided.

SKILLS

  • Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential due to high volume of deliveries.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Strong driving skills with an ability to navigate various routes efficiently.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations is beneficial.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading goods.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload goods, performing heavy lifting as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and any issues encountered.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
