ABOUT THE ROLE

Sessions UK is seeking an experienced and drive Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This key position has been created to support our continued growth, ensure vital knowledge transfer, and lead the development of innovative engineering solutions – particularly in the automation and standardisation of our label application machinery. You will play a pivotal role in sustaining and enhancing our operational capabilities by working alongside senior team members approaching retirement, mentoring junior engineers, and taking ownership of critical engineering projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge Transfer & Mentorship
    – Collaborate closely with senior engineers nearing retirement to absorb and document legacy knowledge and processes

– Mentor and support the development of junior engineers to strengthen the internal talent pipeline

  • Project Leadership

– Lead the design and projects for labelling machines, including integration of infeed/outfeed components

– Drive continuous improvement through process and product innovation aligned with government R&D incentives

  • Standardisation & Documentation

– Develop standard operational worksheets, engineering templates, and comprehensive parts lists to support efficient scale-up and reduce errors

– Aid with enhancement of CAD drawings

  • Workshop & Operational Support

– Act as second-line support to relieve workload from the Technical Director, ensuring complex issues are resolved efficiently

– Contribute to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and customer readiness reviews to enhance product delivery confidence

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

– Work closely with the commercial and production teams to ensure technical requirements are aligned with customer expectations and sales objectives
