What you’ll bring to the team:
Location: Leatherhead Road, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2NE
Our Engineers are part of the Technical Services Department, a dynamic team that spans various disciplines, from Facilities to Creative, and is responsible for all maintenance activities across the resort. We are a passionate and driven team, committed to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests, making Chessington the UK resort that every child dreams of visiting!
The Engineering Team plays a crucial role in maintaining Chessington World of Adventures’ 32 rides and attractions, from thrilling roller coasters like The Vampire to family-friendly experiences such as the beloved Gruffalo River Ride.
Whether your expertise lies in mechanical or electrical engineering, you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks, from preventative and corrective maintenance to conducting opening and closing checks, and contributing to our annual winter maintenance program. As a specialist in your field, you will use your expertise to enhance reliability, safety, and ride availability, ensuring our guests have the best possible experiences and continue to return year after year to our incredible resort.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A “can do” attitude and endless energy and enthusiasm for the role.
  • ONC, NVQ Level 3, or a BTEC equivalent qualification obtained through an apprenticeship or college route in engineering.
  • Post apprenticeship experience, including inspection work.
  • A thorough understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements, such as COSHH.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience in a theme park environment is not essential; engineering experience with other electrical systems is equally valuable.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
  • Familiarity with using technical manuals, conducting risk assessments, and handling related documentation.
