Description

We are currently recruiting for Multi-Skilled Engineers to work at our cooked bacon factory in Northampton, UK.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for a multiskilled engineer with an electrical bias. Ideally the right candidate will have come from a solid engineering background with experience in food. You should be highly motivated and critical thinking/ problem solving should be second nature. Other skills should include:

  • Experience with motors, drives, PLC’s, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, gearboxes
  • Positive can-do attitude, strong communicator, analytical, self-motivated
  • Able to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings.
  • Electrical or mechanical qualification with 3 years’ experience as maintenance engineer

Night Shift- Sunday to Thursday 6pm to 3am.
Overtime available
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will become a valued member of our team responsible for delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production. The engineer must ensure that production equipment operate efficiently, effectively, safely and in line with the maintenance strategy.

TYPICAL DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Working on machinery/equipment such as: high speed slicers, Industrial microwaves, gas oven, blast freezers, slicers, hydraulic presses, multi-head weighers, vertical bag sealers, thermoformers, metal detectors, check weighers and other food processing equipment
  • Work towards reducing breakdowns by engaging with problem solving sessions, reviewing maintenance plans, continuous improvements etc.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to other members of the engineering team in your areas of expertise and strength.
  • Have a strong focus on Food Safety and Health and Safety, identify any improvements that can be made.
  • Engage with the CMMS system to provide data that can be used to implement change and share information across the department.
