Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance professional to join our team, based initially at our Aberdeen site. This role offers the exciting potential to progress into a Mobile Engineer position, supporting and servicing sites across Scotland.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance, with experience in various technical areas including electrical work, welding, and mechanical systems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining and improving the functionality of our facilities while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out routine checks, inspections, servicing, and testing of mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems across residential and communal areas.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to resident-reported and operational issues, diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all works are carried out in line with statutory regulations, health & safety policies, and industry standards.
  • Building Systems: Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, access control, lifts (liaising with contractors), lighting, and other building systems.
  • Fabric Maintenance: Carry out general building fabric repairs, including painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, and tiling.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise and coordinate external contractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance.
  • Resident Focus: Engage professionally with residents and site teams, providing updates on maintenance requests and ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Asset Management: Support the recording of asset conditions, maintenance logs, and statutory compliance records.
  • Emergency Response: Be part of the out-of-hours rota to provide cover for urgent maintenance issues.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer/maintenance technician, ideally within residential, hospitality, or commercial property sectors.
  • Broad knowledge across multiple disciplines (fabric, mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Understanding of BTR/residential property management, resident services, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider estates/facilities team.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety and statutory compliance (e.g., Gas Safe, PAT testing, L8, fire safety).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in a core trade.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Plumbing/Heating certifications.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • IPAF, PASMA, or similar working-at-height certification.
  • Previous experience in BTR, hospitality, or premium residential environments.
  • Own van

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
