SERVICE ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL)

Location: Field-based Central Belt of Scotland (with some UK-wide travel)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Completed a recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship
  • Minimum of 1 year of post-apprenticeship experience in a relevant field
  • HNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
  • Full UK Driving Licence

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRABLE:

  • Woodworking & metalworking machinery
  • LEV systems (fan/filter units)
  • Variable speed drives, soft starters, star/delta & DOL starters
  • PLCs, solenoids, single & three-phase motors
  • Pressure transducers & switches, emergency control relays
  • Bearings, fans, impellers

ADDITIONAL (DESIRABLE) QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • 18th Edition Inspection & Testing
  • ECS/CSCS certification
  • Experience with steel conduit bending, trunking, and cable tray installations

ABOUT THE ROLE

A growing engineering services company is seeking a field-based Service Engineer with an Electrical or Mechanical background to join its expanding team. Due to recent contract wins and ongoing business growth, this is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking to work across a varied and rewarding client base.
Clients include industrial and educational sites requiring servicing and installation of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems and a range of engineering workshop machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on a variety of equipment, including workshop machinery and LEV systems, ensuring all work meets current regulations.
  • Investigate, diagnose and repair faults on-site, providing clear written reports of work carried out.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade machinery and LEV systems (electrical and mechanical scope).
  • Commission new machinery and systems to ensure full operational compliance post-installation.
