JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Mechanic to join our team based in Norwich, with occasional travel across the UK. As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of plant machinery, commercial vehicles, forklifts and skips. You will be involved in welding, fabrication, and conducting mechanical repairs, so a diverse skill set is essential.
The role requires an initiative-taking, hands-on approach and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to other business sites across the UK, providing an excellent engineering service while working as part of a team or independently.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a multi-skilled mechanic, with a background in plant machinery, welding, fabrication, and commercial vehicles
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in mechanics
  • Ability to diagnose faults and conduct repairs on mechanical
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal business functions and team members effectively.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Mechanical qualification
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the mechanical/industrial sector.
    · Electrical experience (preferred, but not essential).
Responsibilities
  • Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and servicing on a range of plant machinery, commercial vehicles
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks to maintain and repair plant and industrial equipment, safety barriers, skips, and trailers.
  • Weekly travel to Harlow to carry out service and repair work, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Actively plan and conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and time on jobs.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service and build strong internal relationships with business-critical departments.
  • Work alongside the other engineers to perform appropriate duties.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment is operating effectively and safely.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times, along with other business critical certifications.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet service targets and deadlines.
    · Electrical experience is an advantage.
