We’re on the lookout for a technician to join a multi-skilled team, delivering the most moving experience in London, at the lastminute.com London Eye. Who wouldn’t want to join the ultimate viewing experience in the heart of London?
The world-famous lastminute.com London Eye is the UK’s most popular paid for visitor attraction, and with this exciting role you will contribute to the safe inspection, operation, and reliability of this outstanding attraction.
This is a Full Time, permanent role and includes working a 12-hour day or night shift on a roster basis, and as you’d expect your rota will include weekends and bank holidays as required. Our attractions are open all year round, therefore full flexibility is required.
You will be tasked with conducting electrical and mechanical inspections and maintenance activities. Naturally this means you’ll be dealing with both routine maintenance and breakdowns and therefore you will work swiftly and with care to diagnose and resolve problems. As you can envision working at heights will need to come naturally to you, especially at 135 metres above the ground! Utilising your hands-on knowledge and broad experience of both electrical and mechanical specialisms, you will help us to sustain minimal downtime of equipment and rides for the maximum guest experience.
Your role will also include carrying out daily checks and start-up and close procedures, supervising the ride during daily operations and carrying out any required reactive repairs efficiently and safely in a timely manner. You will also be aware of all issues relating to the rides, inclusive of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, networking, air conditioning and control systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • An ONC or HNC in an engineering subject area (ideally with an electrical bias)
  • Previous industrial engineering environment experience
  • To have gained experience in technical fields such as PLCs, HVAC, and Hydraulics
  • An in-depth knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments, the ability to read and understand electrical drawings, Planned Preventative Maintenance systems of work and LOLER/PUWER
  • To be a person who takes pride in their work, hopping aboard with high personal standards and strong personal motivation
  • To be a positive and self-motivated individual with a strong eye for detail
