Position Overview: Convergence Health is seeking a customer service oriented, self-starter, medical front office receptionist who will support our patients and multi-specialty surgeons, collaborate and be part of an integrated care team. As the first point of contact for the Medical Practice, the ideal candidate will embody a people first culture and drive front office efficiencies to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner and have a keen eye for detail. The Front office receptionist will cultivate relationships with our surgeons, patients, care team and Community partners and handle all calls as well as assist patients with paperwork and inquiries in a professional manner. You will focus on continually learning to adapt to our growing multi-specialty services that currently include Orthopedics, Women’s Health, ENT, General Surgery, Podiatry, Ophthalmology and Oncology. Key Responsibilities: Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Serves as telephone operator for facility, responsible for correct routing of incoming calls, taking accurate messages when unable to connect to requested party. Responsible for receiving and distributing mail, special deliveries. Collect patient’s copay or deductible amounts. Balances log to cash/checks/credit card payments Gives balanced payments received log and deposit log, originals and copies of all cash/credit card slips/checks received to clinic office manager. Greets patients, gives necessary paperwork to complete. Responsible for patient waiting room cleanliness. Responsible for maintaining inventory of office supplies. In times of emergency, responsible for placing calls to appropriate agencies for assistance Performs other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Maintains patient account by obtaining, recording and updating personal financial information. Filing and scanning as required Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures reporting needed changes. Evaluate daily schedules to accommodate patient flow and minimize missed appointments. Completes referrals and authorizations as required. Requirements Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical Receptionist experience Experience with multi-line phone system Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities. Effective written and verbal communication. Cooperative work attitude toward and with co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Qualifications Preferred: Medical office experience Experience using EMR systems. Experience with medical charting systems Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Physically demanding, high-stress environment Exposure to blood, sharp instruments and other devices, body fluids and tissue, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions Manual and finger dexterity Hand and eye coordination Standing and walking for extensive periods of time Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
