Description

We’re looking for a Multimedia Reporter to join our energetic and multi award-winning News team on a full-time permanent basis.
As the Multimedia Reporter, you will be covering the Birmingham & West Midlands area, reporting for the famous Greatest Hits Radio network and the Hits Radio network, as well as reporting into our other iconic brands such as Magic Radio, Absolute Radio and KISS as appropriate.
You’ll be first on the scene for breaking news, delivering vivid, engaging reports across radio and video. Calm under pressure, you’ll capture high-quality audio, craft compelling stories, and report with authority.
Strong editing skills and a keen eye and ear for detail are essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships with key figures and local communities. You’ll help ensure we remain the trusted voice of our area, sharing original, relevant stories with impact.
As an ambassador for the station, you’ll bring excellent people skills and support a positive team culture. Flexibility is key - news doesn’t stick to office hours.
This is a full-time position where you will work across the Birmingham & West Midlands area.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • You’ll have 25 days holiday, bank holidays & 2 volunteer days to use.
  • Your development matters, so access to our internal training provider – Bauer Academy, is a huge win.
  • We have enhanced Maternity/Adoption, Paternity and Shared Parental Leave Pay.
  • You’ll have the opportunity for flexible working.
  • And much more! Find the full details of our benefits here
Please Note: We are actively seeking this position. You should hear from us within 48 hours of the expiry date. Please note on some occasions the role may be closed before date shown or need to be extended.

  • Building and maintaining strong local contacts to uncover original and exclusive stories.
  • Ensuring all content is legally sound, accurate, balanced, and Ofcom compliant.
  • Editing and presenting bulletins, and supporting other news roles as needed across Bauer’s network.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a professional, positive working environment.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date news diary and share weekly coverage plans with the news desk.
