POSITION SUMMARY

The Multimedia Specialist is an integral member of the Learning Design unit, and reports to the Associate Dean, Centre for Academic Innovation. The primary role of the Media Developer is to work in close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts and Learning Design Consultants to design and develop interactive digital course content deployed within the College’s Learning Management System (Brightspace by D2L). In this way, the Learning Design unit supports the achievement of access, quality & sustainability goals articulated in the Bow Valley College Institutional Plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Intermediate/advanced skills in videography, audio recording and editing, web design
  • High Intermediate to advanced skills in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Dreamweaver, or similar professional media design and editing software
  • Effective project management skills and ability to work with diverse teams
  • Advanced skills in responsive web design with experience hand-coding and troubleshooting HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
