MULTISKILLED ENGINEER (FACILITIES TECHNICIAN)

Location: HMRC Bristol
Salary: £25,700 - £38,800
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • HND/NVQ or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services.
  • IOSH Passport or CSCS Card.
  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical or mechanical building services and plant engineering.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (Business Level).
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAFM/CMMS systems.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Property Maintenance experience.
  • Familiarity with EZMax or Maximo.
  • Previous experience working with subcontractors.
  • Experience with CDM Regulations.
  • Previous AP/CP appointment in disciplines such as Electrical, Boilers, Pressure Systems, Working at Heights, or Confined Spaces.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a proactive and skilled Facilities Technician looking for a dynamic role? We are seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join our team at HMRC Bristol. Reporting to the Hard FM Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth operation and maintenance of building services, ensuring compliance and outstanding service delivery.
As part of this role, you will oversee both planned and reactive maintenance activities, working closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality Hard FM services.

TECHNICAL DUTIES

  • Perform planned maintenance tasks as per schedule.
  • Undertake maintenance and reactive repairs on a variety of M&E and Fabric Building equipment, including:
  • Heating boilers, pumps, compressed air systems
  • Sanitary ware, fan coil and air handling units
  • BMS systems, distribution boards, control panels, and lighting systems
  • Identify and report faults, ensuring quick resolution.
  • Work with subcontractors to ensure statutory compliance through testing and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to compliance audits.
  • Support the deployment of Hard FM continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide real-time updates via Digi Hub to support workflow.
  • Participate in emergency responses and disaster recovery planning.
  • Assist with billable works and small projects.
  • Take part in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours reactive maintenance.
