Salary commencing at $72,088.20 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience. Band 3. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a Multiskilled Presentation Officer to join our City Presentation team within the Service Delivery group. This hands-on role plays an important part in maintaining and enhancing gardens and outdoor environments at a range of Council facilities, including kindergartens, childcare centres, maternal and child health centres, neighbourhood houses and community halls. Working as part of a supportive and inclusive team, you will deliver high-quality horticultural, presentation and minor maintenance services that contribute to safe, functional and welcoming community spaces. Key Responsibilities Maintain and enhance gardens, trees, shrubs and turf areas to Council service standards. Perform planting, mulching, pruning, renewal works and general environmental improvements. Maintain and repair outdoor assets such as retaining walls, paths, decking, sandpit enclosures and playground equipment. Conduct regular inspections of playgrounds and outdoor assets, identifying hazards, defects or non-compliance and reporting through Council systems. Operate and maintain plant, tools and machinery safely in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and Council procedures. Record daily operational activities and asset information using Council’s asset management system (Confirm), with training provided. Support a proactive safety culture by identifying and managing risks, modelling safe behaviours and maintaining clean and organised work sites. Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other Council departments to ensure efficient and coordinated service delivery. Provide flexible work programming to accommodate facility use and minimise disruption to community members. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of innovative tools, equipment and work practices. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will bring a practical understanding of horticulture, garden maintenance and outdoor asset care, supported by a Certificate III in Horticulture (or equivalent experience) and experience working in a similar outdoor or environmental setting. You will have the ability, or willingness to learn, to safely operate and maintain a range of plant, machinery, tools and equipment, along with basic carpentry or general maintenance skills. A current Victorian Driver Licence is required, with a Medium Rigid licence or willingness to obtain one with Council support. Certification as a Playground Inspection Officer, or the willingness to obtain it, is also required. This role involves physical outdoor work, including lifting, bending and working in varying weather conditions; reasonable workplace adjustments can be provided.
