Multiskilled Tech-CVICU Job Type: Nights 7:00am-7:00pm Department/Unit Summary The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at North Alabama Hospital encompasses a team of nurses that care for post operative patients that have had open heart surgery or vascular surgeries in a critical care setting. Qualifications and requirements EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN). Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required; Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
