Municipal Officer Reference number: 11131 Closing date: 11:00pm, Monday 27 April 2026 * Multiple casual positions available. * Salary commencing at $36.48 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience). * Classified as band 3. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is suitably experienced individuals to join our Municipal Casual pool within the Waste & Recycling team. If you have relevant skills, qualifications and experience in particularly within street cleansing we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities * Operate leaf blowers and other equipment to move leaf litter from footpaths, nature strips and road gutters for collection by street sweepers * Undertake general street cleansing and maintenance activities across roads, parks and open spaces * Safely operate and maintain plant, tools and equipment * Assist with minor maintenance and fault detection of equipment * Carry out manual labouring tasks as directed by supervisors * Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Council policies, procedures and OH&S requirements * Provide courteous and professional interactions with members of the public * Contribute to a positive, cooperative team environment Skills & Experience You will have a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a physically demanding, outdoor environment. You bring sound communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to follow instructions and use initiative when completing tasks. Experience operating hand-held powered equipment such as blowers, mowers or similar tools will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of safe work practices and OH&S requirements. A current Victorian driver’s licence is essential, and you must be physically capable of undertaking manual tasks including lifting, bending and working in varying weather conditions. Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn new equipment and processes are key to success in this role.
