Position Overview We currently have an opportunity available for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Environmental Team in our Southern WI/ Northern IL Area. The selected candidate will assist with planning, design, and construction for a wide variety of municipal infrastructure projects including local roads, trails, water, sewer and storm water projects. Key Responsibilities Performs design tasks including computations and analysis for municipal infrastructure including, local roads, water mains, sanitary sewers and storm water facilities. Applies engineering principals to develop solutions and evaluate performance and life cycle cost of municipal infrastructure improvements. Creates drawings and models following the company’s design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software with limited guidance. Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents and permit applications. Provides construction phase services for local roads, trails, sanitary sewer, potable water, and storm sewer infrastructure projects. Interprets construction plans and documents for the contractor and client, interface with owners/operators regarding potential interference with operations, Performs full or preliminary review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders, punch lists and contractor as-builts. Maintains project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals as needed Drafts correspondence, reports, participates in project meetings and communicates effectively with all project stakeholders. Participates in securing work from new and existing clients and maintains client relationships. Requirements B.S. degree in Civil Engineering IL or WI PE license is required. 6+ years of experience with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure (roads, trails water, sewer, and stormwater) is required. Ability to research and specify materials/equipment, develop/review cost estimates and bid documents is required. Ability to follow through on tasks to completion, research and recommend solutions, collaborate with other team members, and delegate tasks to Jr. staff and technicians. Ability to understand and interpret local building/zoning codes and review plans. Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders. Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil3D) is required; WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS is desired. Experience in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM, Biowin and/or other similar software packages is desired. A valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to local project sites is required. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary range: $89,960 – $118,560 + annual performance bonus.
