Job Description AECOM is searching for a Municipal Engineering Designer/EIT to be based in our Victoria, BC office. The candidate will have an interest and understanding in civil engineering, civil technology and construction management principles and with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and occasionally with clients. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, wastewater and storm water sector. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Build analytic and design skills. Collect and analyze data and use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Provide as needed support in the design, and analysis of municipal water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Perform construction inspections. Support the preparation of documentation for design projects and reports. Prepare project specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process), or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: Eligibility for registration with EGBC as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Possess the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects Capable of using spreadsheet, work processing and standard office software Possess strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated communication skills through publications or presentations, and work Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, BioWin, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models) Experience with project management concepts, principles, and duties Additional Information Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
