JOB SUMMARY
This position works with municipal operations and maintenance teams to coordinate maintenance, operations and capital activities to ensure effective work is done in support of asset and financial sustainability.
EDUCATION:
Grade 12 education.
5 years of work experience.
Minimum of 1 year of experience within civic operations. A demonstrated knowledge of maintenance and operations in the civic environment is required.
Minimum of 3 years of work planning, scheduling, and coordinating experience, according to the following definitions:
Planning – ensuring task requirements including work details, skills, materials, and equipment are established and managed prior to scheduling work.
Scheduling – selecting dates and times to complete work based on capacities, priorities, equipment, and staff availability.
Coordinating – coordinating the activities of staff and equipment toward completing a task, including dispatching or overseeing day to day work operations.
Experience in effectively working in Microsoft Office, using mapping applications, and SAP in operations and maintenance work is required.
Ability to obtain Work Management Certificate from PEMAC.
Obtain Level 1 & 2 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Operator Certification Exams from Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board. Must be obtained within 12 months of original hire into the position.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively, orally through radio and telecommunications, and in writing by developing clear and concise work plans.
Knowledge of the technical and engineering principles and practices related to municipal operations and maintenance.
Knowledge of basic concepts of maintenance planning, scheduling and coordination.
Knowledge of materials, equipment and supplies used in various maintenance operations.
Ability to plan, schedule, assign and supervise the work of staff.
Ability to compile and organize data in a comprehensive manner and perform duties in an organized and efficient manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, contractors and civic employees.
Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
