Description Miami Children’s Museum is seeking a warm, creative, and dedicated Museum VPK Teacher to join our Early Childhood Institute! What You'll Do Lead a classroom of 3–5-year-old children with intention, compassion, and creativity. Ensure children’s safety, wellbeing, and comfort throughout the day — including assisting with personal care when needed. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, Reggio Emilia-aligned lesson plans that encourage exploration, investigation, and self-expression. Use museum exhibits and materials to bring learning to life through hands-on, project-based activities. Create daily schedules balancing active/quiet and child-led/teacher-led moments. Observe child development, document progress, and communicate with families using tools such as Ages & Stages (ASQ/ASQ-SE). Prepare students for FAST STAR Early Literacy Assessments. Foster language development through stories, music, drama, and conversation. Support social-emotional growth through positive guidance and conflict resolution. Collaborate with your team and participate in ongoing professional development (minimum 30 in-service hours). Represent the values and philosophy of the Early Childhood Institute and Miami Children’s Museum. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5+ years of related early childhood experience Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Museum Studies, or related field (preferred) Completion of DCF 45-hour training VPK Instructor Emergent Literacy Course Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families If you’re ready to inspire and be inspired, apply now and join our team!
Responsibilities
