INTRODUCTION

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) is recruiting to fill a Music and Audio Program Coordinator.
MMHI is located on the north side of Madison and offers a beautiful campus environment, convenient free parking and an onsite workout facility. POSITION SUMMARY

As the Music and Audio Program Coordinator, you will serve as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team on MJTC and coordinate MJTC’s music therapy program, performing the following duties:

  • coordinate, facilitate, instruct, and evaluate music and audio production and other leisure interest therapy programming in conformance with unit goals and treatment methods.
  • perform security related tasks, functions, and responsibilities to assure a clean, safe, and secure environment in accordance with federal, state, DHS, MMHI, and unit policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Experience with audio or music production performing duties such as recording, designing, manipulating and mixing sound effects, music, dialog, etc.
  • Experience with sound engineering, digital audio technology, the recording industry, or applying the principals of acoustics.
  • Experience with copyright and legal issues.
  • Experience integrating knowledge of multicultural issues, ethnic diversity or individual differences into therapeutic programming.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Certified or eligible for certification in Audio Production or a related field. Eligible is defined as someone who is in the process of being certified (still going to school for Audio Production or related field).
  • Experience with individuals with behavior issues or psychiatric needs.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience applying techniques to evaluate behavior change and treatment effectiveness.
  • Two or more years of experience as a professional Therapist.
