Summary The Hospice Music Coordinator provides emotional support and quality of life for patients and families through techniques which may involve live music, music appreciation, reflective listening, progressive relaxation, songwriting and improvisation. Additionally, this role structures the use of both instrumental and vocal music strategies to facilitate changes that are nonmusical in nature. Musical interventions can be designed to promote wellness, manage stress, alleviate pain, express feelings, enhance memory, improve communication and provide unique opportunities for interaction. Music sessions may be offered on an individual or group basis. Schedule Part-Time | 40 hours every two weeks Monday - Friday, Day shift from 8:00AM to 4:30PM Pay and Benefits Starting pay begins at $18.38 per hour and increases with experience Pay range: $18.38 - $27.61 per hour Part-time benefits: Medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and more! Qualifications Registered and certified Music Therapist preferred, not required. Bachelor’s degree in music obtained within 3-5 years of hire required. Minimum of 1 year experience in the field of music application. Must exercise sound judgement working with patients and staff. Must follow strict confidentiality standards. Experience working with the terminally ill preferred. A genuine interest in people and desire to help others. Excellent communication skills.
