Job Title: Music Facilitator Department: Operations Job Type: Part-time, Seasonal Classification: Non-Exempt Pay Range: $21.50/Hour Work Location: In person Position Overview: Invite children and families to play and connect with each other through the joy of music! Kidspace Children’s Museum seeks a team of seasonal staff to lead children and families in creating music together during KidspaceCampout Seasonal Theme. Kidspace Campout is a celebration of togetherness expressed through the lens of traditional American summer pastimes going to camp, road trips with friends, outdoor exploration, silly games, and of course, songs around the campfire! Each day, Campout Music Facilitators collaborate with guests to sing feel-good songs around the “campfire”. This role is for someone who loves to make music with others and can invite and engage children and families into the experience. Summer Schedule Overview: This is a summer season position that begins May 11, 2026, and ends September 13, 2026. Mandatory Dates: Onboarding & Training Dates: May 11, 2026 – May 14, 2026 Kidspace Campout Dates: May 22 – September 13, 2025 Applicants must play a guitar-like string instrument (guitar, ukele, banjo, etc) and sing. Applicants must provide a resume, short paragraph describing their experience creating music with others, and a video demonstrating a traditional campfire song or sing-along song with a string instrument and voice. Selected applicants will participate in an in-person group interview at the museum, where they will be asked to come prepared to lead us in a campfire song that feels sweet, silly, and/or inviting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitate daily interactive campfire song programs with children and families, engaging them to make music. Invite guests into musical play as valued contributors and share in the joy of creating together. Read and respond to audience size and energy levels. Engage with guests in a safe, friendly, and professional manner, including leaning into the seasonal narrative that involves classic camp themed activities. Collaborate with other staff to deliver the musical daily program. Help answer guest inquiries and provide museum information and wayfinding support. Provide a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for guests to play. Actively contribute to our culture of inclusivity, welcome, collaboration, and play. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements: A love for, and experience with, leading others in music making together in large and small groups required. An ability to set the musical foundation for others to engage them in creating a music experience around a campfire with a string instrument and voice. Prior experience working with children and families. Willingness to partner with other staff to lead music programming. Familiarity with classic campfire songs a plus. Available three days a week, including one weekend day, holidays, and some evenings. Comfort with verbal and written communication in the English language, bilingual in another language a plus. Flexibility, a willingness to learn and grow and a can-do attitude. Kidspace is a largely outdoor facility; exposure to outdoor elements is required. Responsibilities
