We are seeking a Music Production Tutor with strong industry experience and a passion for mentoring emerging talent. This is a part-time, in-person teaching opportunity to lead a hands-on 12-week Music Production Bootcamp delivered at our Birmingham Academy and Pirate Studios in Digbeth. You will deliver industry-relevant content, support learners’ creative development, and guide them toward monetising their music professionally.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll teach a range of topics over 2 class days and 1 studio day per week, across 12 weeks, to a mixed group of aspiring music producers, sound engineers and performers. Learners may be beginners or intermediates seeking to enhance their skills and access real creative careers. This is an ongoing role across future bootcamps - ideal for someone who wants to stay embedded in music education long term.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver engaging, practical, and supportive sessions across topics including:
  • DAWs (Ableton, Logic Pro, FL Studio)
  • Mixing & mastering techniques
  • Sound design & engineering fundamentals
  • Music commercialisation, distribution & monetisation
  • Studio management and live-stage techniques
  • Stem separation and sampling
  • Use of AI tools for creative workflows (bonus)
  • Portfolio and final project development
  • Freelancing, networking, marketing, and self-promotion
  • Guide learners through individual or group music production projects
  • Offer technical and creative feedback throughout the bootcamp
  • Adapt content delivery to meet mixed-ability student needs
  • Help learners explore career routes in music – from freelancing to employment
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure learner progress and completion
  • Maintain attendance and session reports in line with academy procedures
