Description
We are looking for a Music Teacher for an International school located in Guangzhou. This position is available from February 2026. Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver Music across PYP/MYP (and DP where applicable), aligned with IB frameworks, ATL skills, and the Learner Profile. Lead ensembles (band/choir/orchestra), teaching instrumental technique, ensemble skills, theory, composition, and listening/analysis. Design coherent units with clear conceptual understandings; use formative and summative assessments aligned to programme criteria, with timely feedback and documented evidence (recordings/portfolios). Differentiate for a wide range of ages and abilities, including beginners and advanced performers; support EAL/SEN learners and integrate music technology where appropriate. Organize concerts, recitals, festivals, and assemblies; manage auditions, rehearsal schedules, calendars, and logistics with colleagues. Maintain instruments, inventory, and specialist spaces; ensure safe, responsible use and risk management. Collaborate with homeroom/subject teachers and coordinators for vertical/horizontal alignment and transdisciplinary links; participate in professional learning, moderation, and whole-school events. Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or related field; teaching qualification preferred Two or more years of music teaching experience; experience across primary and secondary is an advantage IB experience preferred (MYP Arts and/or DP Music); familiarity with PYP transdisciplinary learning Salary and benefits Monthly salary of 25,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Relocation allowance of 2,000 RMB Annual flight allowance of up to 10,000 RMB Work Visa provided Summer and winter holidays National holidays Medical insurance Lunch and shuttle bus provided by the school Laptop provided by the school
Responsibilities
