McGregor PACE is an innovative, community-based Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly. Our five senior day centers and clinics are in the counties of Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit. McGregor PACE is expanding! We have opportunities for an experienced, compassionate Music Therapist to work in a community-based setting with frail and elderly populations. McGregor PACE takes great pride in providing comprehensive services to frail older adults. The Music Therapist implements therapeutic recreational activity programs for participants, utilizing music therapy interventions to enhance quality of life and support individualized care plans within an interdisciplinary team setting. Qualifications include: * Implements a coordinated, multi-faceted therapeutic activity program designed by the Activity Director for frail older adults, including participants with mental illness, dementia, vision/hearing loss, or physical impairments, using music therapy interventions as appropriate. * Under the guidance of the Activity Director, develops and implements individualized and group music therapy interventions and therapeutic activities to support participants’ cognitive, emotional, physical, and psychosocial functioning, in coordination with Life Enrichment Coordinators and scheduled monthly programming. * Monitors participants’ responses to music therapy interventions and reports changes in participant status, behavior, mood, or functioning to the Activity Director and other interdisciplinary team members, as appropriate. * Communicates with participants and families regarding music therapy and therapeutic activity programming, calendars, and special events. * Under the guidance of the Activity Director, update the Life Enrichment Dept, Day Center and Volunteers regarding special music programs as appropriate. * Offer music-based resources and materials for independent leisure pursuits and small-group activities that may be facilitated by Volunteers or Center Assistants. * Collaborates with the Activity Director to coordinate involvement in music-related programming, working in partnership with Community Life Enrichment Coordinators in home and at facility partners as applicable. * Makes recommendations for the purchase of music therapy and activity supplies in accordance with agency policies and procedures. * Ensures music therapy services and activity programming comply with PACE regulations, organizational policies, and applicable documentation standards. * Assists with departmental and participant outcome data collection and analysis as requested and participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives relevant to music therapy services. * Provides education, training materials, and professional presentations related to music therapy therapeutic activities to agency staff, participants, and caregivers, as appropriate. * Travel to each of our five locations (East Cleveland, Warrensville, Brooklyn, Akron, and Elyria) to ensure participants receive a fun, engaging, and high-quality music therapy experience.
