JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking an enthusiastic musician, tutor, or trainer to establish and lead a learner band. This role involves teaching learners with special educational needs how to perform, collaborate, and develop as a group. The successful candidate will facilitate rehearsals, provide instrumental and vocal coaching, and support learners in performing at events.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:

• Lead and develop a learner band, ensuring all learners are engaged, supported, and progressing.
• Deliver structured and engaging music sessions that promote teamwork, confidence, and musical ability.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners with additional needs.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and performance skills in a safe and inclusive environment.
• Support learners in understanding stage presence, audience engagement, and performance etiquette.
• Identify and nurture individual talents while fostering a sense of unity and collaboration.
• Organise and oversee performances, including college events, community gigs, and showcases.
• Work collaboratively with support staff and other curriculum areas to enhance cross curricular learning.
• Maintain appropriate records of learner progress and achievements.
• Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all learners in line with college policies.
