​​​​​​Musical Theatre Associate - February 3 - May 4, 2026 ( 1 New Temporary Part time Position) The Town of Wasaga Beach is seeking creative, energetic, and self‑motivated team players to fulfill the role of Musical Theatre Associate. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support musical theatre and performing arts programming for children and youth in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. General Responsibilities: Reporting to the Musical Theatre Director, the Musical Theatre Associate is a creative, organized, and passionate leader who assists with the delivery of all creative and educational aspects of the theatre’s programs. Working closely with the Director, the Associate supports the coordination of rehearsals and performances, provides instruction and skill development to participants. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of Musical Theatre and Performing Arts programs for children and youth; Support the coordination of rehearsals and performances, including backstage and onstage activities; Ensure required supplies and equipment are set up and ready prior to each class or rehearsal ; Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program space before and after sessions; Provide direction, mentorship, guidance, and oversight to participants; Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment ; Interact professionally with participants, parents/guardians, staff, and members of the public; Adhere to all municipal policies, procedures, and safety standards; Complete required administrative duties, including attendance records and incident/accident report. Education & Training High school diploma, or currently enrolled in high school; Standard First Aid CPR – C with AED certification required; Experience & Skills Experience teaching, coaching, or assisting with musical theatre or performing arts programs for children and/or youth; Participation in musical theatre productions, including rehearsals and performances (community, school, or professional); Ability to plan and deliver age‑appropriate instruction; Previous experience in a theatre or performance setting (school productions, community theatre, or similar) considered an asset; Strong interest in musical theatre, performing arts, and working with children or youth; Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively as part of a production team; Effective problem‑solving and organizational skills. Additional Requirements: Acceptable and current Criminal Reference Check, required for individuals 18 years of age and older; General knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act; Ability to contribute positively to a service‑oriented team environment; Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, as required.
