Job Title: MVS System Administrator
Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite – Local candidates preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in engineering labs or manufacturing test facilities.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux OS (command line).
  • Skilled in Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with computer hardware assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in reading electronic schematics and datasheets.
  • Ability to identify components on PCBAs and perform soldering/debug work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on, self-driven, with the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an MVS System Administrator to support engineering labs and/or high-volume manufacturing test facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Linux, system hardware, and troubleshooting electronic components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and support MVS systems in an onsite lab/manufacturing environment.
  • Work with engineering labs and/or high-volume manufacturing test facilities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Linux OS environments (command line expertise required).
  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware systems with the ability to distinguish between system components.
  • Perform debug and re-work on PCBAs, including soldering when required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings effectively.
  • Create and present technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Apply an analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving and test equipment maintenance.
