This is a hunter-leaning, quota-carrying role focused on building and closing a high-velocity pipeline across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise segments. What You Will Do Own the full sales cycle for MySQL Database Service and MySQL HeatWave on OCI: prospecting, qualification, discovery, solution positioning, commercial negotiation, and close. Allocate 50%+ of weekly time to new logo acquisition and whitespace expansion. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline; forecast, manage, and close 50–60 qualified opportunities annually (approx. 10% from existing customers) in Oracle Sales Cloud with high data hygiene and forecast accuracy. Lead executive discovery to surface business outcomes, quantify impact, and align to decision criteria for cloud adoption and data platform modernization. Orchestrate account strategy with internal stakeholders (sales leaders, presales, product specialists) and key partners; contribute as a team member on complex, strategic deals. Articulate, in business and technical terms, how OCI and MySQL HeatWave differentiate vs. competitors and deliver measurable customer value. Utilize Oracle’s sales toolkit (Territory Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Eloqua, DataFox/ZoomInfo, Sales Cloud, LinkedIn) to target, engage, and progress accounts in your territory. Document territory plans, target lists, and campaign motions; execute 30/60/90-day plans and report progress in quarterly reviews. Apply structured sales methodologies (e.g., Infomentis; familiarity with MEDDICC/Challenger is a plus) for qualification, stakeholder mapping, and deal progression. Deliver a crisp three-minute elevator pitch on the value of Oracle Cloud and MySQL HeatWave tailored to audience and industry. What You Will Bring 3–6 years of direct software/IT sales experience with demonstrated quota attainment, including experience selling cloud services (DBaaS, analytics, infrastructure, or adjacent software). Proven success managing complex sales cycles (multi-stakeholder, technical validation, legal/procurement) and closing mid-sized deals; able to run multiple opportunities concurrently. Strong discovery, qualification, and value-based selling skills; confident engaging VP/C-level decision-makers in both business and IT. Excellent communication and presentation skills in Japanese; business-level English for internal collaboration and product content. Self-starter mindset: plans rigorously, executes with urgency, collaborates cross-functionally, and maintains high CRM discipline. Familiarity with competitive data platform and cloud landscapes is advantageous. Success Metrics Consistent attainment of quarterly/annual revenue targets. Predictable forecast accuracy and pipeline coverage. Quality opportunity creation (from targeted accounts) and shortened cycle times. Referenceable customer wins that highlight MySQL HeatWave’s OLTP + analytics value.
