Description
Performs any NDT work within the focused factory including Visual Inspection (VI), Radiographic Testing (RT) and Penetrant Testing (FPI). Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the NDT method(s) utilized (customer documents, industry standards, etc.) Follow procedures and perform operations associated with core duties. Complete job performance measurements associated with productivity and quality. Accurately complete inspection forms, logs, records and check sheets in any format (i.e. from paper to computer) for the monitoring of the factory. Training: May be assigned to training of other employees. Equipment Maintenance: Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and specified process control checks to maintain control of processes and equipment. Facilities Maintenance: Perform defined 5S actions in and around NDT areas as assigned. Active involvement in creating a safe workspace and following safety best practices. Work on cross functional Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams to improve manufacturing process efficiency and customer quality and delivery performance. 1. Documented 400 hours of practical experience or on-the-job training (OJT) prior to Penetrant Testing Level 2 certification. 2. Documented 800 hours of practical experience or on-the-job training (OJT) prior to Must be a high school graduate, e.g., high school diploma or GED equivalent certificate. ▪ If experience was gained in Film Radiography, 200 additional hours of experience in NonFilm Radiography would be a plus. 1. Level 2 certification in Penetrant Testing, e.g., certificate of certification. 2. Level 2 certification in Radiographic Testing, e.g., certification of certification. General Must be able to pass a color and near vision eye exam per NAS410, e.g., able to read a Jaeger Eye Chart using J1 letters held not closer than 12” to the examinee's eyes, and no color deficiencies as determined using Pseudo Isochromatic Color Plates. Visual Weld Inspection training, experience, and/or certification would be a plus, e.g., AWS - CWI.
