Job purpose / role We are seeking a Cat Analyst (m/f/d) to join our Cat Modelling & Exposure Analytics team at Allianz Re. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing natural and man-made catastrophe risk for Allianz' internal portfolios, as well as for third-party clients. A key aspect of your responsibilities will involve defining reporting standards and collaborating with developers to implement reports and dashboards within our in-house Cat Analytics environment that help stakehodlers understand business performance and make informed decisions Key responsibilities Support Allianz Operating Entities (OEs) in the preparation and submission of Cat exposure data. Analyze Cat and cyber data, including data quality assessments and conducting Cat risk evaluations (Cat modelling) for both internal and external clients. Verify data quality, provide recommendations for corrections and improvements, and monitor remediation efforts. Prepare comprehensive documentation, offer guidance to stakeholders, and facilitate knowledge transfer. Define and enhance standard reports and dashboards, and drive process automation initiatives. Qualifications Preferred qualifications include a degree in Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, or a related field. Equivalent experience in a relevant discipline will also be considered. Experience & Key skills At least 3 years of proven experience in catastrophe modelling using probabilistic cat models. Strong expertise in handling and analyzing large data sets, including database technologies and languages such as SQL and Azure Synapse, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Excellent understanding of Cat data quality and its impact on Cat model outcomes. Experience in creating BI reports and dashboards using Power BI. Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python. Experience in process automation and agile development methodologies. Positive, proactive, and cooperative attitude, with strong communication skills. Proficiency in English is required; German is advantageous.
