QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years’ experience in a client-facing management role within the Trade Services or related industry.
  • Strong market knowledge of the New Zealand region.
  • Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen with a proven track record of profitability growth.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and foster internal collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As the National Accounts & Business Development Manager for our New Zealand business, you will drive strategic growth by managing key client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the customer portfolio while ensuring profitability and compliance. This role involves achieving sales targets, guiding internal teams on sales strategies, and overseeing national service division across HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Services. Success requires strong relationship-building, contract management, and strategic execution to align with the organisation’s growth objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Account Management

  • Manage and grow existing key accounts, ensuring net margin targets are met.
  • Develop and implement account management strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular engagement and strategic meetings.
  • Develop and maintain regular reporting structure to meet clients requirements
  • Identify sales and marketing opportunities, preparing and delivering presentations and proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
  • Oversee contract performance, compliance, and financial targets for key accounts.
  • Report weekly on key account performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote and support value-added services to clients to enhance business offerings.
  • Ensure all customer interactions and data are accurately maintained in CRM systems.

Business Development

  • Develop and execute a business plan focused on sales growth, revenue targets, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and qualify profitable sales opportunities through targeted sales management.
  • Drive the sale of new and renewed service contracts (HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Services).
  • Build strong industry networks to enhance business opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including business unit managers and technicians, to drive growth.
  • Maintain databases and customer records to ensure seamless follow-up and communication.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maximise customer yield and profitability.
