Project Context and Scope The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Turkmenistan is implementing the regional project “Comprehensive Action Plan for Afghanistan and neighboring countries” which aims to provide comprehensive support to Afghan citizens residing in Turkmenistan with a focus on expanding the socio-economic opportunities of women and girls from among the Afghan and local communities to ensure long-term sustainable development at the local level. Within the framework of this project, training workshops are planned for decision-makers, planning specialists, and technical experts from local administration and local self-government bodies, as well as other relevant stakeholders, on sustainable water conservation and the rational use of water resources on pasture and irrigated lands. These activities aim to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in climate-resilient development and local-level climate change adaptation through the study and application of effective traditional and innovative technologies for the conservation, abstraction, and use of water resources. National consultants will work closely in coordination with IOM project management team and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of this assignment. Project title: “Comprehensive Action Plan for Afghanistan and neighboring countries”. Duty Station of the Consultancy: Lebap, Turkmenistan. Duration of Consultancy: 2 months (March - April 2026).
Responsibilities
