  • 10+ years of experience in credit and collections with at least 5 years in a management capacity
  • CCP Designation required
  • Private company experience preferred
  • Experience in wholesale distribution or pharmaceutical or healthcare environment is an asset
  • Contract management, project management, and negotiation skills preferred
  • ERP implementation and change management skills are an asse

Responsibilities

The National Credit Manager is responsible for a large and diverse portfolio requiring excellent credit risk management skills, expertise in customer security agreements along with strong process and systems knowledge. This role will collaborate with the Supervisor, Credit & Collections on setting credit policies, monitoring credit lines, and collecting on past due and problem accounts.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage credit risk of customers from small independent pharmacies to national accounts
  • Evaluate potential customers’ creditworthiness and get appropriate security agreements in place
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to ensure all credit related matters are addressed in a timely manner
  • Establish credit policies and procedures that are consistent with industry standards and company goals
  • Manage collection of accounts
  • Monitor and manage customer credit limits, making recommendations for changes when necessary
  • Demonstrate initiative to streamline processes and implement controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with our customers through regular communications and personal visits to further support credit recommendations
  • Prepare reports and provide analysis of credit and collections data to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections
  • Create a strong and motivated team environment providing guidance and training as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
