POSITION OVERVIEW

BDC aims to increase its impact on the Canadian economy by fueling the dreams of entrepreneurs through access to financial solutions and holistic support. Central to this is the ambition to reach and support more entrepreneurs, especially level the odds of those underserved by the traditional financing ecosystem through building leveraging lending partnerships. The Community Banking unit is a vehicle for this strategy, deploying transformative financing and non-financing solutions through meaningful relationships with external partners (B2B2C model).
Reporting to the VP, Community Banking, the National Director – Loan Guarantee Programs, will lead a national team driving strategic lending partnerships under our loan guarantee programs. Your mission: develop, structure, and activate high-impact agreements with financial institutions—including banks and credit unions—to expand BDC’s reach.

We’re looking for a strategic leader with strong relationship-building skills and financial structuring expertise that will:

  • Lead and grow partnerships with senior executives across multiple functions (products, distribution, risk, etc.).
  • Negotiate terms and conditions on loan guarantee programs and foster trusting relationships
  • Activate existing agreements and develop new opportunities to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, visibility, and an exceptional partner experience.

If you thrive on building trust, negotiating complex agreements, and creating growth opportunities, this role is for you.
