Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager, Linehaul, this role will be responsible for the end-to-end performance and optimisation of our national Linehaul Sub-Contractor Freight Hubs. You will drive consistency, performance, and compliance across all freight hub operations, ensuring alignment with broader Linehaul network strategies. This is a leadership role leading a team of 10 Transport Allocators, that requires strong operational experience, commercial acumen, Procurement expertise, P&L Management and the ability to manage complex subcontractor relationships within a 4PL environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all national Freight Hub operations across Australia, ensuring safety, compliance, and service excellence.
  • Develop and execute operational plans aligned with 4PL logistics strategies, ensuring seamless movement and cross-docking of freight.
  • Manage high-volume subcontractor networks, ensuring contract performance, relationship management, and commercial outcomes.
  • Optimise freight flows, loading performance, and delivery accuracy, in alignment with customer SLAs and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with local and national stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across people, process, and systems.
  • Champion a culture of safety, performance accountability, and operational excellence.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in freight, transport, or logistics operations, ideally in a 4PL environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale subcontractor networks, including performance management and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of freight hub 4PL and operations, load planning, and linehaul interfaces.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative and solution-focused mindset.
  • High-level commercial acumen and the ability to deliver P&L outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A track record of driving continuous improvement in complex logistics environments
