Description

Gillfor Distribution is seeking a full-time, highly motivated National Human Resources Manager with a CPHR/CHRP or are working towards a CPHR/CHRP designation to support our leadership team. As a key member of the Gillfor team, a Canadian owned business, you will engage in the full spectrum of HR responsibilities across all provinces and oversee the benefit programs for approximately 250 – 275 hourly and salaried employees. Your role will be integral in ensuring compliance with HR legislative requirements across all provinces and maintaining a positive and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, be able to pivot and adjust priorities, and must always be up to date with respect to legislative changes affecting the HR realm.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • CPHR/CHRP designation or working towards
  • Strong communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • PCP Payroll designation an asset
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft excel and other office suite products
  • Ability to pivot and adjust priorities based on shifting needs and urgent requests from branch divisions and senior management.
  • French bilingual an asset

Responsibilities
  • HR Compliance & Policy Management: * Stay abreast of changes in government regulations across all provinces, compliance, and best practices related to HR, including human rights, provincial employment standards, working for workers, pay equity, WCB/WSIB and more.
  • Spearhead the implementation and updating of the annual review of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Employee Relations & Consultation: * Serve as contact for employee’s queries and concerns resolving issues in a timely, empathetic, and professional manner.
  • Assist the H&S Manager and executive team on HR matters, ensuring the best practices are followed.
  • Provide guidance on performance management, conflict resolution and foster a healthy, productive work environment.
  • Benefits Management: * Oversee benefits program, including RRSP program.
  • Manage the process of new employee information, including setting up payroll records and ensuring all necessary documents are complete and accurate.
  • Manage benefit program enrolments and any related changes.
  • Provide employment verification when requested by employees and outside organizations.
  • Onboarding & Training: * Oversee onboarding processes to ensure that new hires are seamlessly integrated into the company.
  • Collaborate with management on ongoing employee development, engagement, performance reviews, and compliance training.
  • Proactive Change Management & Problem Solving: * Maintain an analytical, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving, particularly in compliance and employee relations matters.
