Description

For the purpose of this vacancy, internal candidates are considered first-tier candidates. Context Responsibilities will include developing strategic planning for IOM Malaysia’s strengthened engagement with the government, civil society and private sector on migration, business and human rights, and lead a team to implement designed activities. Implementation of activities will include outreach, engagement and liaison with stakeholders including the government, UN partners, private sector, and migrants, following up on logistical and administrative arrangements including budgets, ensure that donor reporting information and schedules are available. Implement training activities including designing and facilitation of training and other capacity strengthening activities for stakeholders.     This will include development and delivery of training for private sector companies on ways to reduce the risk of migrant trafficking, exploitation and forced labour in companies' daily operations and supply chains through interventions such as human rights due diligence assessments; human and labor rights awareness-raising and due diligence; grievance and remediation, development of policies and procedures, etc.  
Responsibilities
The officer will lead the Migration, Business and Human Rights (MBHR) Programme in Malaysia, focusing on strategic planning and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities include designing training for the private sector to reduce migrant exploitation and managing project budgets and reporting.
