Entity: Customers & Products Job Family Group: Sales Group Job Description: BP’s Fleet Fuel card & ANZ business is accelerating—and this role puts you at the centre of that growth. As the leader of our NZ Fuel card Sales Team, you’ll drive performance across traditional fuel products and future fuels such as EV charging, hydrogen, and renewable fuels. You’ll lead major business development efforts to win new Fuel card business, strengthen customer relationships, and grow our market share. You’ll provide country leadership, support your team, and act as a trusted advisor for key customer queries. What you will deliver Lead the New Zealand Fleet (Fuel card) business, delivering 500M litres annually and achieving margin, volume, retention, and growth targets. Own P&L performance through pricing management, profitability oversight, and strategic business development to support your Customer organisation and Midstream supply goals. Provide in‑country leadership and act as the go-to partner for all NZ Fuelcard customer matters. Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing sales team, ensuring strong portfolio management and customer relationship ownership across New Zealand. Maintain safe, reliable operations with a strong focus on people care, customer care, and operational excellence across ANZ and India support teams. Use customer, competitor, market, and economic insights to shape winning customer strategies and contribute to broader ANZ strategic direction. Drive high impact initiatives, including managing conversion of development leads and supporting customers through the transition from fuel-based to low‑carbon fleet solutions. What you will need to be successful Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, business, marketing or similar. Relevant experience in sales/business development/marketing/retail environment. Intermediate negotiation experience in complex or fast-paced product environment Customer or external-facing account management Proven ability to influence external parties or governing bodies to win or resolve complexity or conflict Clear examples of leadership either direct or indirect. Skills & Competencies Commercial mindset with proven B2B success, including business development, deal flow generation, offer execution, and driving growth in corporate marketplace environments. Strong commercial appraisal capability, including investment evaluation and case generation. Advanced relationship management, building and maintaining collaborative partnerships across bp and external organisations. Experienced in managing senior customer relationships and closing significant commercial sales. Effective team leadership, fostering a safe, strong culture and developing team capability. Influential communicator, able to convey clear narratives, engage senior partners, and shape decision-making. Future‑focused with interest in future fuels and low carbon energy, understanding emerging customer needs, and applying a curious, growth mindset.
