This role will support the Group Head of Risk and Compliance with the ongoing management of the physical security, loss prevention and risk management needs of the Metcash Group of companies.      In this Role Security Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard Metcash’s assets and operations Conduct periodic security risk assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and develop mitigation plans. Provide security advice and thought leadership to senior management and staff on the protection of people, assets, and reputation. Advise on solutions to mitigate or manage security threats and risks that fit with business aims and developments.   Operational Security Management: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of physical security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, alarms and perimeter protection. Management of security service providers, including the conduct of periodic tenders, and management of service contracts and standards. Collaborate with others to maintain emergency response plans and protocols, including conducting drills and training sessions. Contribute to projects as a physical security subject matter expert, including the development of business cases, design and leading implementation.   Incident Management and Investigation: Lead or guide the response to security incidents, in collaboration with site management teams, including theft, vandalism and unauthorized access, ensuring prompt and effective resolution. Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence   Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Collaborate with various teams across the business, including Site Operations, Pillar Management, P&C and IT, to ensure integrated and cohesive security measures. Communicate security policies, procedures, and updates to relevant employees and stakeholders, fostering a culture of security awareness.   You’re Likely a Match If  Five to eight years’ experience in Physical Security management in a wholesale distribution, retail or supply chain business would be desirable, or similar experience in a large complex corporate environment would be beneficial Strong understanding of physical security risk management, and risk management principles more broadly. Strong knowledge of physical security systems, technologies and best practices.  A strong technical understanding of electronic security systems and knowledge of developments in the market is required.  Proven leadership skills – ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results. Proven project management skills Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including workshop facilitation experience. Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages and customer value.
