JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable National Specification Manager to join our team. This is a field based role with a requirement for occasional travel to our head office, based near Cardiff, South Wales.
The National Specification Manager will be the advocate, responsible for promoting and securing the specification of CheckFire’s unique lithium-ion battery fire protection solutions.
You will possess a background in B2B specification sales, while also being highly proficient in professionally representing a company brand, successfully specifying/educating/selling a unique product portfolio across a broad and varied spectrum of trade, specification and end users, ensuring achievement of agreed targets. The successful candidate must be a proactive, entrepreneurial product advocate, able to work autonomously to lead the drive on market penetration, awareness and presence of this unique fire risk solution via specification sales.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast paced commercial environment.
  • Proven experience in specification sales, preferably within a technical sector/discipline
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in fire safety, construction, or a related field, with an understanding of fire safety regulations and standards
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with products like the CommanderEDGE LFX range, and certification standards such as British Standards/NTA 8133 for lithium-ion battery fires.
  • Experience in B2B specification sales.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving objectives.
  • Analytical, able to interpret data and complete gap analysis exercises.
  • Confident presenter, comfortable leading/presenting to large forums
  • The ability to understand technical questions and provide solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills
  • Courtesy and competency in communication both internally and externally.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Birmingham B

Responsibilities
  • Support the Sales Director in shaping/defining strategy – where to play
  • Promote and secure LFX market presence via project specifications through engagement with the fire trade, specifiers and end users
  • Strategic Account Management: Build long-term relationships key stakeholders, influencers, fire trade, industry bodies, specifiers and end users.
  • Project Tracking: Identify and track major projects from early planning stages to completion.
  • Training & Support: Provide technical support and training to internal teams and external partners on product specifications and applications.
  • Collaboration: Work with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to align specification strategies with business objectives.
  • Training & Support: Deliver CPD (Continuing Professional Development) presentations and provide technical support to external stakeholders.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and legislative changes affecting specification decisions.
  • Reporting: Maintain an up-to-date CRM system and provide regular reports on project pipelines, specification wins, and key account progress
  • Support our trade customers via education/training and supporting specification sales within their customer portfolio
  • Manage own journey planning and appointment setting, with journey plan in place to support at all levels.
  • Nurture new account relationships on commercially viable terms.
  • Foster, develop and deliver excellent customer relationships.
  • Work in tandem with the Commercial Team to develop business within existing and new customers
  • Identify new customer opportunities within the Sales Regions
